I’ve always been someone who seeks to challenge themselves, whether in my personal or professional life. In my opinion, IT and technologies are the core of any organisation. They have a profound impact on how things can be achieved, planned, and future-proofed.
This passion for IT has been a significant part of my life. It started with Media and Design at college, continued with Digital Design at university, and culminated in becoming a senior IT consultant at the age of 24 for West Sussex. West Sussex was an alternative provision college where quick thinking and efficiency were essential for success in a challenging yet rewarding environment. I not only worked with staff members but also interacted and engaged with pupils to help them achieve their digital and IT goals.
These experiences and challenges have shaped me and my perspective when working in any organisation and how to interact with users in the future.
I am currently the Lead IT engineer for OICBrighton , working on focused solutions to improve and maintain the schools systems. End user focus is a key role but being adaptable by working with external clients and contractors to bring them on board with projects is an important part. I also work closely as being part of the regional team for our other schools across the EU and prompt efficient work with our partners in China and Poland from help desk to remote support. I have worked on many projects since joining this site , such as a solution for payments on site , lockdown systems and access control , as well as 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support. A big part of me joining this organisation was to oversee infrastructure works that are taking place on site with a development that is a 6 year plan, mapping out cabling for network and liaising with large companies to complete jobs effectively and efficiently. This school only opened 2.5 years ago and I’m the sole IT engineer on site looking after 100 members of staff and up to 200 students.
Prior to OICBrighton I was part of the Platform Engineering team at BHCC, working on large-scale projects such as lead design and user experience on SharePoint and other 365 applications. I have also overseen shared drive migrations back to a cloud solution, all while maintaining excellent customer service, prompt responses, and integrating myself into various teams across the organisation.
Leading teams with proficiency and delivering results not only for the organisations but also supporting colleagues and other users of IT and digital products is a daily aspiration of mine. Communication and planning are my real strengths, and I believe they align exceptionally well with this job role. I’m passionate about continuing to work in the IT and Digital sector and supporting users and beyond.
